The Bay of Angels is Nice’s most prominent, and most strikingly beautiful, feature. The graceful sweep of its shore, its deep azure water, and its pebble beach combine to make the bay a unique destination.
I started looking for an overseas studio space about the same time I first visited Nice. It didn’t take long to know that was precisely the right spot. Centrally situated between Paris, Naples, Venice, and Barcelona, our Nice location provides a convenient meeting place as we continue to work on new CC Lifestyle products. Best of all it offers a sense of both France and Italy in one place, and adds in the spectacular Côte d’Azur as a bonus. — Christopher
A Nice Gallery
Nice is a beautiful city where low, multicolored buildings hug the richly hued Bay of Angels. Neither land nor sea dominates the scene, each contributing a complementary element to the overall sense of balance. Nice Harbor and nearby Ville Vieux retain all of the charm of their Italia heritage. There, the salmon- and mustard-colored stucco walls and terra cotta tiles can make you momentarily question where you are.
Just cross the Promenade du Paillon, the recently added pedestrian park built over the Paillon River, and you can’t help but feel you’re solidly in France. The architecture is strongly evocative of Paris, if only the cafés along the Boulevard St.-Germaine offered views of the Azure Coast. To enjoy a closer view of the water, stroll the Promenade des Anglais—aka “Le Prom”—a seven-kilometer paved walk that parallels the pebbled beach.
My Nice Designs
Paris is a feast for the eyes. Approach any monument, museum, apartment building—even a subway entrance—and you’ll find a surface rich in detail. I have incorporated many of these details into my designs.
The numerous gardens—large and small—which one encounters all over the city, are another source of inspiration for me. This bright patch of irises and lilies gave rise to Jardin Elysées.
Old meets new in many places in Paris, but there’s no more striking example then IM Pei’s contemporary entrance to the venerable Musée du Louvre. This appealing juxtaposition inspired out popular Harmony pendant.
One of our newest bridal designs is also our most popular. Mon Ange draws features of its design directly from Nice’s elegant coast line and the intense blue of its bay.
Let Nice inspire you! In 2019 I designed a 30-year anniversary ring for Rick & Deneen. They met me there, but you don’t have to travel that far to have a travel-inspired custom piece made. Follow the link below to find out how to get started.
